A place chronicle that took a while to separate .

Trigon : Space Story is an FTL : Faster Than Light - like where instrumentalist control a starship and its crew as the unseen commanding officer of the starship . It is your responsibility to direct the gang to sure parts of the ship and tell them where to aim at enemy ship since they do not act on their own . It ’s a plenty of micro - management , but it can be entertaining if done right hand .

Space is beautiful

Trigon : Space Story is beautiful . instantly , you feel like you ’re in a futuristic environment with how everything looks and feel . You wo n’t have any difficulty identifying foreign race , as they all look different , and the explosion and fire are a mesmerizing hatful to see . Seeing foe ship explode is also very satisfying , and you feel incredibly powerful as you do so . This is credibly the best - looking FLT - like around .

Space is also very hard

This game ’s difficulty spike is very unfair . triangle : Space Story is a difficult game , similar to FTL , but once you get past the first arena — even armed to the teeth — the secret plan feels like it takes unjust advantage . It ’s not a game where you may use skill to void attacks ; you need to rely on your own strategy .

You miss a lot more than you should , but the foeman never drop , so you must compensate tactically . you may easily exceed an enemy , but disabling sealed parts of their ship is extremely unmanageable and most times will not disable , even if yours does . The game feels voiceless , but it overpowers the foe or else of making them smarter , resulting in less fun and more wearisome shooting .

Everything is very expensive , so you ’ll have to grind a lot on easier sectors just to get enough for the weapon you want . You ’ll also face at least two to three foe at a time after two minute of run if you have a high premium , since bounties arevery unmanageable to get disembarrass of .

A universe built to last

The story is quite interesting , despite most of the chore being " go here " or fetch quests . It ’s very intriguing to select what to do in random events , whether the game asks if you ’ll side with pirates or not to take a shady spate . It ’s always fun to adjudicate for yourself , and Trigon gives you those opportunities .

Although you only interact with other histrion through blank battles or random outcome , the universe still feel active . The random event seemingly fill each sphere with mass pop off about their line of work , good or bad , so the existence feels lived in . There ’s not much to do after the third mission except grind to get to the next sector , which is where the quaternary delegation is . Grinding takes a lot of time , highlighting how slight there is to do asunder from random space conflict .

A lot of bugs in space

Despite go out Early Access , the game still has many bugs and glitches . One or two meter in an hour , we had to restart the game due to it freeze out or not allow us to click crewmates . Every clip we had to go to the Task Manager to close out the game , it dampened the fun we could have had . The developer should have fixed many of these germ before Trigon was released as a make up game because biz - breaking glitch like these make it feel incomplete .

Verdict—Don’t buy this

It ’s not as good as FTL or other games in this same genre , which can be cheaper . Despite the better nontextual matter , you ’ll find the unfairness and glitches too much to comport very early on on . It would be worth the cost at a discount if it were $ 14.99 , but at $ 20 , you wo n’t want to pay for something that needs this much workplace . We advocate trying outFTL : quicker Than Lightif you have n’t yet or tryingStar Command Galaxies , which has a squad who has made games like these before .
