Even though Two Star Games only had one soul behind the bicycle for Choo - Choo Charles ' development , one can easily enjoin that a lot of beloved was poured into the net intersection , even if it did n’t really achieve its trust impact .
Narrative
In Choo - Choo Charles , you play as a museum conservator ( though this is never bring up again ) who is invited to an undisclosed island . The wanderer train Charles has become progressively fast-growing and is bring havoc on the locals . You ’re provided with a train that you could elevate as you journey across the island in hunting of eggs that can be used to summon Charles to a fight . Unfortunately , there is n’t much of a tale beyond this . In fact , the entirety of the game revolves around you speaking with different locals who demand you to do things in substitution forScrapsthat can be used to promote your train and the weapons that you may attach to it .
While this is happening , Charles lurks close behind . He will chase after after you and attack with no remorse . You ’ll apply the weapons you acquire and the rising slope you progressively place on your caravan to flee from him while attacking , making him recoil and run away . Gameplay
Choo - Choo Charles ' gameplay is its most saving quality . The controls are incredibly straightforward , and there was n’t a single example where I was n’t sure how to carry on when it came to interact with items or characters . The move is very liquid and considering that the only thing that move are you , the cult member enemies , and Charles , this can make for some very brief but intense battles .
Even the more complicated aspects of the game , like driving the power train and using the lockpick , are made easy with color - coordinated controls and a map that you may surge into from above . It is very approachable , making it fun to explore and play the secret plan over and over . That said , the special interactions did make the experience somewhat samey . mighty - clicking on anything you could interact with is your best friend for just about everything , which make things a niggling predictable .

Features
Features are improbably lacking in Choo - Choo Charles . The missions that you see on the map from the very outset are the only one that you could fill out . The characters that you contact are only a termination of these foreign mission , and even then , they can not be interacted with again after their mission is over . This makes interactions with any NPCs implausibly limited . After completing all of the available delegacy , there is n’t anything else that can be done .
There is n’t much in the direction of extra characteristic , either , which mean that once you polish off the game , it ’s over . Even once you nail the net military mission , you ’re right away turn back to the mo before you started . The game does not have a multiplayer mode , a Centennial State - op mode , an online mood , or even a New Game Plus mode . So , once you complete everything , replay the game or go back into it will be more of a slip of how much you enjoyed the atmosphere and general gameplay .

Atmosphere
Choo - Choo Charles ' map is very large , with plenty of interesting place to go and arresting vistas to gape at . However , it still feels very empty in an unsatisfying way . There are n’t any fauna around , save for a few still beast that seem to be obscure in random billet , and there are almost no landscape painting features . All of the locating that I came across were relatively flat and there purely to build on the idea of quad . For instance , there are differentiate tombstone and summoning circles that make for a cool atmosphere , but they give way to really do more than just that . It ’s as if lonesomeness in a flesh - out human race were the intent , but void is what was achieved .
Charles is what really makes the world feel interesting . His random appearances and the medicine that precedes his arrival are what really make the standard atmosphere glint . I was always searching for him in the distance as I rode my train to its destination , and I was always wary of how much blank space was between me and the next place where I could take shelter . But , when he was n’t in the region , there was n’t much left that extract me into the experience .
